March really does come in like a Lion in Tuscaloosa doesn’t it. You never know if you are going to wake up to snow or need to lather up the sunscreen. One thing is sure of March, pretty much everyone has spring fever around here. We are ready for more sunshine and less outerwear. This month for ART AT HOME, the Art Garage will try it’s best to inspire you to let your kiddos make some art that will bring that Springtime feeling into your home, no matter what it feels like outside.

A great activity that is simple and not too messy is EGG CARTON Flowers.
SUPPLIES NEEDED
Egg Cartons( paper ones work best but foam will do)
Paint (Crayola has a washable kids paint in the craft section of most grocery stores, amazon, Target or Walmart) The Art Garage has some fun paint pods that would work also. Pick up whatever is convenient for you.
Straws (leftover ones from fast food will work)
Glue or tape
HOW IT WORKS
1. Make sure the egg carton is washed and clean. Or wiped off if it is a paper one.
2. Cut out or tear the “egg cups” into three sections. Each section should have 4 “clusters” of cups.
3. Fix the straw to the back of the egg carton cluster (the back is the side that looks like 4 small hills) with glue or tape.
4. If you used glue, wait for it to dry.
5. Paint each of the egg cups pretty flower colors. You should have 3 “flowers.”
6. Let Dry and stand upright in an old mason jar or unused vase for Springtime table decorations.
