Need a date night or even a "day date" out in Tuscaloosa? Don't we all?
The occasional date nights out are important for parents to connect and focus on each other. Date nights can "enhance your friendship as well as your emotional connectedness," Dianne Grande, Ph.D., a licensed clinical psychologist wrote in a Psychology Today article called "Date Night: Not a Luxury, a Necessity."
"Usually, the challenge for long-term couples is to get out of the routine that they have fallen into and put in some effort to make their lives together more fun and joyful," she writes.
So find a babysitter, schedule a playdate, or recruit a family member or friend to take over kid duties for a few hours this weekend, and plan a great few hours away with your honey. Here are ideas for creative dates in Tuscaloosa, Alabama:

Megan Hyche from our Mac Kid Mom Squad has some awesome ideas for a special Valentine's Date Night.
"Sure there are the typical Tuscaloosa date nights, but if you want something a little outside the norm, check out these fun ideas.
Near Evangeline’s in Tuscaloosa is the aptly named, Escape Tuscaloosa. I haven’t had the chance to go yet, but it’s reasonably priced and at the top of my list to visit. In fact, maybe that’s how my husband and I will spend our Valentine’s Day.
Maybe you haven’t found a babysitter you trust with your kids or maybe you have one too young to leave, but either way, not being able to leave the house shouldn’t be an excuse to skip date night.
Loosa brews-fun bar with video games and board games. They usually have a $5 wine tasting with snacks on Mondays. Not sure if they will do something special for Valentine’s Day
Can’t decide on a restaurant? Why pick just one? Start the night out by having a drink an and an appetizer at one place, before having your main course at another, and end the night with dessert somewhere else."
For a "Day Date" make it a coffee tour of Tuscaloosa
I love the idea of a "traveling date night," like Meghan described above! Another twist on that idea for coffee lovers is to hop around to coffee spots in town. This might just be one of my dream dates, but would need to be followed up by a long walk by the river.
- Pastor's Coffee & Gift Shop
- Monarch Espresso
- Heritage House Coffee & Tea
- Just Love Coffee
- PJ's Coffee
- Turbo Coffee
- Boba Mania (It's boba tea, not coffee. But it is a must try. I suggest the Tarro.)
