A Note from Your Publisher

Week of January 17-23

By Stephanie Horton, MK Tuscaloosa Publisher January 16, 2022

It's Mid-January and there is still plenty to celebrate!  It's a beautiful day to remember Martin Luther King JR and the difference he made.  Today not only can you commemorate the holiday by remembering his life and legacy, but many take the opportunity to serve in our community.  A few opportunities to serve in memory of Dr. MLK are the Boys and Girls Club of West Alabama, Habitat for Humanity, West Alabama Food Bank, Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter, Salvation Army, United Way, and University of Alabama Arboretum.

“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up

and live out the true meaning of its creed:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."

-Dr. Martin Luther King, JR

IT'S NICE TO MEET YOU!

Hi, I'm Stephanie.  I grew up in North Carolina, and would visit family in Alabama at least twice a year during that time. So even though I'm not technically from here, UA is my team.  Roll Tide!  Some of my favorite memories from those visits were day trips to Tuscaloosa that included shopping and time at CHOM.  I am a homeschool mama and pastor's wife.  I love spending time with my family exploring our beautiful community.  If I'm not teaching or taking my children to drama, ballet, or soccer, I love going on long walks by the river and trying out all the local coffee shops.
