Happy Thanksgiving 2021

By Stephanie Horton, MK Tuscaloosa Publisher November 23, 2021

Happy Thanksgiving, Tuscaloosa Macaroni Families and Friends!

There is so much to be thankful for. A day set aside to reflect on all the blessings doesn't seem like enough, what is making you smile today?  How are you showing thanks for the big and small blessings?  I hope you are surrounded by friends and family this Thanksgiving, but if not know you are not alone.  For some the Holidays are not the jolliest time of the year, they are a reminder of loss and those we miss.  My thoughts and prayers are with those grieving this Holiday season.  This year, we will not be able to travel home to be with our families for Thanksgiving, so we are hosting a Friendsgiving.  It may look different than my childhood memories, but still very special.

One of the things I am thankful for is the opportunity to enjoy Holiday and Christmas events.  Last night, the Tinsel Trail's Grand Opening was such a fun beginning to many more Christmas Holiday festivities to come.  You can go by and enjoy the Tinsel Trail and Holidays at the Plaza through January 2022.  There are themed nights including "Ugly Sweater Night" and "Pet Night."

There are also fun shows coming up.  Join the Tuscaloosa Children's Theatre on December 3-5 for Elf the Musical JR.  This week we have a ticket GIVEAWAY for a family pack of tickets to this amazing show!  Go over to our Facebook or Instagram to enter this great GIVEAWAY! Winner will be announced this Friday, November 26.

You can also mark your calendar for December 10.  The Alabama Choir School will be performing their Winter Concert.  (Check back next week for an exciting announcement.) While you are marking your calendar, go show some love to these local performers and LIKE @alachoirschool  and @tuscaloosachildrenstheatre on social media.

We have other great GIVEAWAYS coming each week till Christmas!  I'm so thankful to our friends and sponsors who make this possible.

IT'S NICE TO MEET YOU!

Hi, I'm Stephanie.  I grew up in North Carolina, and would visit family in Alabama at least twice a year during that time. So even though I'm not technically from here, UA is my team.  Roll Tide!  Some of my favorite memories from those visits were day trips to Tuscaloosa that included shopping and time at CHOM.  I am a homeschool mama and pastor's wife.  I love spending time with my family exploring our beautiful community.  If I'm not teaching or taking my children to drama, ballet, or soccer, I love going on long walks by the river and trying out all the local coffee shops.
