A Note from Your Publisher

Week of 10/17/2021

By Stephanie Horton, MK Tuscaloosa Publisher October 17, 2021

What a gift this weekend has been with cooler temperatures and fall breezes.  The leaves are changing colors and the days are getting shorter.  Bonfires, hayrides, s'mores, soccer games, and trunk-or-treats are on our list of fun for the month of October.  This past weekend we enjoyed a trip to Griffin Farms in West Blockton.  If you haven't been there yet, you should definitely add it to your family fun bucket list for fall.  (Which by the way, the MK Tuscaloosa fall fun list was just updated! Please, share it on social media.)  It never fails that my middle man always loves the corn crib most.  They also have a corn maze and many other attractions and activities to enjoy.

Happy 50th Birthday to Kentuck!  If you went out to the Kentuck Festival of the Arts you were in for a treat with all the artisans and live performances.

This week look for the third CHOMtober post.  We are celebrating the Children's Hands On Museum all month!  They have a Spooky Scavenger Hunt!  You can also read all about field trips at CHOM and Melissa Roberts the Museum Educator.  We also have a giveaway opportunity.  So click over to THIS link and fill out the form at the bottom of the article.  You could win a family pack (of 4) tickets to CHOM!

I hope you have a wonderful week enjoying this lovely weather, and spending time with your family!  I know that's at the top of my "to do list."

Speaking of lists, check out this amazing printable of events coming up October 22-31 in the Tuscaloosa area.

IT'S NICE TO MEET YOU!

Hi, I'm Stephanie.  I grew up in North Carolina, and would visit family in Alabama at least twice a year during that time. So even though I'm not technically from here, UA is my team.  Roll Tide!  Some of my favorite memories from those visits were day trips to Tuscaloosa that included shopping and time at CHOM.  I am an online English teacher, homeschool mama, and pastor's wife.  I love spending time with my family exploring our beautiful community.  If I'm not teaching or taking my children to drama, ballet, or soccer, I love going on long walks by the river and trying out all the local coffee shops.
