A Note from Your Publisher

Weekly musings September 20, 2021

By Stephanie Horton, MK Tuscaloosa Publisher September 20, 2021

Greetings friends,

How are you all after the flash flooding we had this weekend?  I hope and pray that you are safe, well, and finally able to dry off a little.  The pictures of our weekend weather caught the attention of meteorologist James Spann, and he shared them to his Instagram.  It was a full out event.  If you don't follow our Birmingham weather man, he is a great resource.  You can find him on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

This week I hosted my first giveaway as publisher over on Instagram.  Two winners were randomly selected to receive a pair of tickets to Jurassic Quest at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Center this weekend September 24-26.  Congratulations to our winners @allisonwilkerson and @mrs.kirkley_0818   I hope you both enjoy the event, and have a wonderful time!

If you didn't win but are interested in attending this event, you can receive a discount on tickets at Certifikid!  CLICK HERE for the link 25% off weekday tickets and 15% off weekend (Saturday & Sunday) tickets.  Be sure to tag us @mackidtuscaloosa for a chance to be featured on our social media channels or in the weekly update.

Calling all local photographers!  A couple weeks ago, I asked our group on Facebook about local family photographers.  You guys were amazing at sharing your favorites!  I am compiling a guide for the holidays.  I would like to include all of our local Tuscaloosa/ Northport area familiy photographers.  If you would be so kind as to email me your basic business info, I will add you to that special edition guide.

IT'S NICE TO MEET YOU!

Hi, I'm Stephanie.  I grew up in North Carolina, and would visit family in Alabama at least twice a year during that time. So even though I'm not technically from here, UA is my team.  Roll Tide!  Some of my favorite memories from those visits were day trips to Tuscaloosa that included shopping and time at CHOM.  I am an online English teacher, homeschool mama, and pastor's wife.  I love spending time with my family exploring our beautiful community.  If I'm not teaching or taking my children to drama, ballet, or soccer, I love going on long walks by the river and trying out all the local coffee shops.
